Synopsis

The London Fields movie is a noir crime thriller based on Martin Amis' novel by the same title. It’s a murder mystery, but the murder hasn’t happened... yet. Nicola Six, played by Amber Heard, is a clairvoyant femme fatale who has a vision of impending murder—her murder, to be exact. She knows that death will come for her on her birthday, and she knows it will come at the hands of one of her lovers... but which one? Will it be the sleazy criminal, Keith Talent (Jim Sturgess), the bored millionaire, Guy Clinch (Theo James), or the dying writer, Samson Young (Billy Bob Thornton)? As Sam observes, Nicola knows how to get to the end of men, and the audience is invited to be a fly on the wall as she works her way masterfully toward her own demise. Sam, desperately trying to churn out one more novel before his own death, sees Nicola as a cure for his writer’s block, the perfect heroine for his last book. Voyeuristically, he begins to immerse himself in her life—following, studying, and spying on her, and weaves a tale around Nicola — or Nicola as he imagines her to be, while waiting for her to be murdered. In London Fields director Mathew Cullen invites the audience to a party to end all parties — an elaborate spectacle of death, violence, and sex centered around the beautiful and mysterious Nicola Six.
